Monday's Events

Yesterday was a very low-key day. Paul had his first day of training here and it was my first day on my own.

Paul's training centre is about a ten minute walk from our hotel. We had breakfast together and then I walked with him to work. I then headed to the grocery store to pick up some items to make lunches.

When I got back to the hotel I cleaned up, finished unpacking, and ironed our clothes. By the time I did some of the 'chores,' had lunch, and talked to people on Skype, Paul got home from training. He is finished at 4pm every day. That is early enough to be able to go touring some evenings!

Last night we had dinner with a colleague of Paul's from Toronto who is also here on training with his wife and daughter. We walked to a brewery and had dinner. The food was wonderful and we sampled some of the local beer. Yummy!

One evening this week we are going to take the train to Bamberg. Bamberg is a well-preserved old town that dates back as far as AD 902. It is famous for its artistic heritage and its exellent beer.

We are also planning on visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber, whose origins go back to the 12th century. It is a Medieval-walled city that hasn't changed that much over time. I can't wait to see the city....it should be amazing!

This weekend Paul and I are going to Munich. We are going to fit in as much of the city as possible and I can't wait to go!

The following weekend we will go to Prague with April. So much fun!

Thanks, Heidi, for all of the tips and advice!! :)

I'm trying to picture you ironing -- who does that anymore -- you'll get over that once the small child gets here.
