24 hours - Leaving on a jet plane....

Wow! It is finally here! Paul and I are leaving for Germany tomorrow!

We are so fortunate to be able to have this experience. What perfect timing! It will be wonderful to be able to relax together and spend some quality time with each other. It will also be one of our last trips together sans kids. :) Although I do sometimes forget that Paul is going to be working....while I do the touristy thing every day....woohoo!

I have to admit, I feel guilty about leaving our three babies (the cats) home alone for three weeks! Our neighbour will be taking care of them and she is absolutely wonderful with them! That makes me feel much, much better....but still....my stomach is in knots a little!

The following is a brief outline of our schedule:

-We are flying out of Buffalo tomorrow (flights were so much cheaper there than out of Toronto).
-flight leaves at 3:18pm
-arrive in Detroit about an hour later and change planes
-flight from Detroit to Amsterdam is about 8 hours long
-change flights again in Amsterdam
-flight from Amsterdam to Nuremberg is about 2 hours long
-arrive in Germany!!

Germany is about six hours ahead of us, so we should arrive just after lunch on Saturday. We are going to try and force ourselves to stay awake until Saturday evening. We need to get on a schedule right away (if possible) so that Paul can get up on time on Monday morning for work.

We are going to do a lot of local touring during the week. The first weekend we are there we are going to visit Munich. The second weekend we are going to Prague. My friend April will be joining us in Germany for the last 10 days of the trip and heading to Prague with us....so much fun!

I am excited about posting on the blog while we are there...practice for when we are in China! My next posting will be from Germany!

Have fun!
