A Christmas Tradition

Our parents started a Christmas tradition with us when we were quite little. They gave each of us an ornament, adorned with the year. The idea was that by the time we moved out (wonder if they knew how long that would take?!), we would have enough ornaments to fill our own Christmas tree.

We always opened our ornament gifts on Christmas Eve - a little something to open before the big day. Over the years I have received many beautiful ornaments, many of them belonging to a theme. For years I received angels that represented different cultures from around the world - a different culture each year. Recently, my collection has evolved into Santa Claus - very traditional-looking ones. Altough we have moved out, our Dad still continues the tradition - and I love it!

This year we included Maelyn in our tradition. This was her first Christmas in our hearts. I think the ornament we found was appropriate - it was called 'Our New Little One.'

I love the snow family -- so sweet.

Can't wait to follow all your family traditions --

Julia loves the ornaments that she has on her tree - each year she says it's like seeing a friend come out of the box...

Maelyn will have no shortage of friends..
