A Visit With The Thompsons!

I have been meaning to get this post on the blog for ages and finally had the time tonight to settle into some much-needed blogging.... :)

Each year at Christmas I make my 'Mississauga Rounds.' I head to the houses of 'my kids' to visit and bring small gifts and many Christmas hugs. This year, because of Paul being recently injured, most of the kids came to us! :)

We went to visit Lianne and the girls one afternoon. Shortly after we arrived, Julie and the girls stopped by as well. Paul and I were able to give them our gifts and spend some time with the kids.

When I look at these pictures, I find myself marvelling at how grown up they all seem. It honestly seems like just yesterday when they were all babies, little toddlers - can't believe how quickly they are growing up!

Hugs from my Brya....

And from my little monkey...

Julie and the girls had to get going to another Christmas get-together. Once they left, we opened gifts from Lianne and the girls - gifts for Maelyn!

The ladies gave Maelyn the grocery cart they used when they were younger and then filled it with new play food items - so sweet! I remember using the cart to play house when they were little....

Lianne gave us a beautiful book about adoption - Paul read it from cover to cover right away!

This housecoat is the CUTEST thing! It even has matching slippers - can't wait to wrap her in it and snuggle her after bath time...

Once all of the gifts were opened, we had lunch together. I have to admit - after having taken care of Paul for the three weeks prior to our visit, it was wonderful to have a meal made for us - so heavenly! We chatted and enjoyed each other's company. After lunch, we watched Cassidy's adoption video - it was put together by her very talend Aunt! Paul LOVED being able to watch Cassidy's journey and the stories that were shared with us - very special. :) All in all, we had a fabulous time with wonderful friends.

Lianne and I have known each other for just over six years now. Our friendship began when I started babysitting her girls, but has since blossomed into a frienship that I cherish deeply. I can't even put into words how valuable her advice and unconditional support through our adoption process has been. Her girls are like nieces to me - I love them with all of my heart and soul. When I spend time playing with them, I am at my happiest.

I cannot wait until Maelyn and the girls can spend time together - they will be fabulous God-Sisters!
