Maelyn

Paul and I have received many emails and phone calls from family and friends, asking about Maelyn. We cannot express how much we appreciate the love and support you have shown us - especially over the past few weeks. :)

We have decided to share with you some things we now know about Maelyn -

• her Chinese name is Ling (last name) Wanhao (first name)
• her given Canadian name is Maelyn Elizabeth Wanhao Green
• birthdate is September 5, 2008
• she was born with a congenital cleft lip and cleft palate
• she had surgery to fix her complete cleft lip on April 7th, 2009
• she was described as a deep sleeper
• she is active and energetic (oh boy!)
• she is starting to walk on her own
• smiles a lot
• can be a bit stubborn (hmmmm....just like your Dad!)
• she is saying simple words likes 'baba' and 'mama,' etc.
• she loves following and copying the actions of characters on tv
• she loves playing outdoors with other kids
• eggs are one of her favourite foods
• she has five teeth!!

We can already tell that she is one amazing little girl - not that we are biased at all! :) We cannot wait to meet her in person and to tell her how much we already love her.
