Ladybugs & Hearts

Ladybugs have made themselves well known to Paul and I lately. We have both seen them in the plenty over the past few days...landing on our cars, our arms, even our hands. We both smile every time they appear to remind us that our referral time is coming nearer every day!

The past few weeks have been tough. It has been difficult knowing that our son or daughter's picture and information is sitting on a desk somewhere in Ottawa, just waiting to be passed on to us! I have felt frustrated, sad, bitter - we don't know when the waiting for our LOA will end!

However, today I decided that enough was enough - no more negative thoughts or feelings of frustration. Instead, I want to live my life grateful for what we have and for our experiences. So.....

  • I am grateful that although it is taking longer than anticipated, we WILL be receiving our referral soon...
  • I am grateful that I have a husband who is supportive and just as excited as I am with the entire adoption process...
  • I am grateful to my family for attending the 'Friends and Family Adoption Workshop' that was presented by our agency - their support is invaluable!
  • I am grateful that we are able to afford the adoption process and have the choices that we do...
  • I am grateful that we were lead down a different path - fertility issues and all!
  • I am grateful for our friends - especially those who have gone through this process and have held our hands the entire way - and those who are going through the process with us right now...
  • I am grateful that our little one will be in our lives...even if we don't know who he or she is yet...
  • I am grateful....
Now that's better..... :)

now that you've sent that out into the universe -- I believe more than just ladybugs will come your way soon.

Julia and I were at the cenotaph on Sunday in Aurora -- along with the many wreaths -- it was covered with ladybugs -- Julia tried to get as many as she could to fly away to go get our baby.

I think it could work...

We are so happy for you. I have seen many ladybugs lately and only think of you two when we see them. So good news will come your way. Take care and know we are all thinking of you.

It is a joyful time and remembering what we are grateful for is just what the doctor ordered.

We are lifting prayers to Heaven too...God is keeping your baby safe until you hold that little one in your arms!

Here are some words from my favourite Lonestar song - they always touched my heart when I was waiting for Cassidy's referral:

I'm already there
Don't make a sound
I'm the beat in your heart
I'm the moonlight shining down
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there
We may be a thousand miles apart
But I'll be with you wherever you are

Love Lianne, Bryanna and Cassidy
