And the purchasing continues....

I have been obsessively searching Craigslist for deals over the past few weeks. One of my latest 'finds' has been an almost-new set of angel-care monitors.

We also spent a fun afternoon together registering for the items we think we are going to need once our little one comes home. It was soooo much fun! We started out at Sears, thinking that we would find better deals there than we would at Babies 'R Us, but we were wrong! Babies 'R Us beat Sears on pricing almost every time. It ended up being a little overwhelming, trying to weed through the newborn stuff and figure out what we are going to need for a toddler. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

Paul happy with his choice of toddler carriers - too cute!

Well, until you can determine clothing size and toy needs...
- Shoulder bag/knapsack that will double for a diaper bag if your little one is that young...need a changing mat in it and lots of room. I bought a bag that was sturdy and that I also used as a carry-on on the plane and that would hold all the adoption paperwork...wasn't letting that out of my hands.
- Rocking chair or comfy armchair for rocking to sleep or staying up with wide-awake child
- good ear thermometer
- bibs, bibs, bibs!
- CD player for the nursery

and so it begins -- so lovely to see your glowing faces doing the register thing.

still - 6 years later-- using the ear thermometer I got as a shower gift -- it's been getting lots of work this weekend as we track Julia's fever -- oh my.

Jan, I remember going into a baby store a few months before my daughter's arrival and running out in tears about 20 minutes later because I was so overwhelmed. You were smart to take Paul with you... the next time I took a friend who completely took charge since I was completely useless at figuring out what I needed.

Looking back, it's amazing how LITTLE is actually required. Bed, jammies, clothes, a good diaper bag and a crate of wipes and you're good to go! ;)
