Showering Maelyn With Love...

A few weeks ago some of my very good friends hosted a shower for Maelyn. I was actually quite nervous about the whole thing - opening gifts in front of others and the reality hit that IT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!! Honestly, the shower made Maelyn's upcoming arrival feel REAL. It gave me butterflies (good ones) and I ended up feeling more emotional about it than I had expected...

I drove there with AM and Julia and it was a nice time to chat and catch up (really, do I ever have trouble with the chatting part?!). When we got there, I was happy to see the wonderful invitations Lianne made adorning the house! It made me smile to see Maelyn's cute little face everywhere...

The house was perfectly decorated - pink and white for Maelyn, Chinese decorations and even my favourite - ladybugs!

One of the best parts of the shower was the fact that the kids were there as well. I love this picture...so much. These kids are my kids - the ones who are a part of me and are in my heart, always. It made the day that much more special.

Lianne, Vanessa, and Julie had activities for the kids in the rec room. They coloured pictures of what they thought Maelyn's blanket should look like....can you tell the shower was full of teachers? Hehe..
I am going to make the pictures into a book for Maelyn - what a great keepsake!

The wonderful hostesses...three of the best people I know!

We played games, opened presents, looked at pictures of Maelyn and talked. It was wonderful to have all of my Mississauga friends all together in one room, celebrating Maelyn and her arrival in our lives.

Then, it was time to eat!

It was a wonderful shower and a wonderful way of celebrating Maelyn's arrival in our lives. We are so blessed to have such caring and loving friends.
