Wow....

A realization hit me last night and hit me hard....

Our child is somewhere out there...and not in theory, but for real...and we are going to know who he or she is very soon...

Every two weeks our adoption agency posts updates about the numbers and progress in each adoption program. I always look forward to reading the updates that pertain to our program as I can 'watch' the progress of our file. This week the update stated that there are currently 19 families in the 'active' process within our program and that 15 of these families are waiting with their child's referral. And then it hit me.....that means that we are one of the four families waiting for a referral and that the next time a set of profiles is sent to Children's Bridge, we will be receiving our referral. Our child will be in that set of referral's.....wow!!!

I have no idea why this all of a sudden made the thought of our child existing somewhere in China so real, but it has. He or she exists and we are waiting.....and now the wait to see his or her face feels that much longer! :) Paul and I are so very excited....
