This could be the title of our weekend coming up -- a weekend away at Niagara-on-the-Lake, one of our favourite get-away spots. I decided, however, that it was befitting a weekend recently spent with good friends.I started out the weekend dining with the girls at one our favourite restaurants. Julie, Vanessa, Lianne and I never ran out of things to talk about -- and the food was good, too! We were able to see firsthand Lianne's pictures of her recent trip to China. We talked about getting ready for our own adoption trip to China. We also heard about Julie and Vanessa's upcoming travels to Europe. Apparantly, this group of ladies likes to travel! :)After dinner, I went back to Lianne's and stayed there for the night. I was going to be heading to Vanessa's place to stay with the kids the next day, so it wasn't worth driving all the way back to Newmarket. It also gave me the chance to visit with the girls and sleep in my favourite bedroom! I don't know what it is about this bedroom, but it is the best ever! I
always sleep well when I stay at Lianne's -- don't you agree, Shauna? :)The next morning, Lianne made breakfast and we had time to chat and look into creating my new travel blog. After Lianne and the girls headed to gymnastics, I went to Vanessa's to stay with the kids for the day. It ended up being one of the best days I had had in a long time. I find that there isn't anything more relaxing than spending the day getting lost in the fun and excitement that kids seem to naturally exude.I was treated once again that day to not having to cook a meal -- Galen made lunch for all of us and it was very tasty! He is an expert at making egg mcmuffins, but was adament that he couldn't take the credit -- they are his Dad's special recipe!
Noah also got in the action as he helped to put the ham on the muffins...
Then we all sat down to a yummy lunch...
After lunch we headed to the movies to watch 'How to Train Your Dragon' in 3-D.
I know you are all thinking that the day couldn't get any better -- but it did! Lianne and the girls met us at Canadian Tire where I purchased new shelves and cupboards for our laundry room. The trick was getting all of the purchases into my Honda Civic -- but we did it! :)
The kids then had an amazing time playing together and Lianne ordered pizza for dinner...
Not only did the kids make my day, but Lianne did a pretty good job of helping me feel relaxed and cared for -- I really enjoyed spending time with her that weekend. From having breakfast made, gifts she brought us back from her trip to China (more on that later), to dinner and even a treat for a special restaurant to use in NOTL this weekend!
After Lianne and the girls left, it was time to party with the Woodburns!! One of my favourite activities to do with the kids is to run and dance! That night, we let loose! I have a hilarious video of this dancing party, but unfortunately, I can't get it to load. I will work on it and try posting that later...
All in all, it was the perfect day and a much needed one -- relaxing and enjoying the love and company of 'my kids' and friends.

hee hee - love the last shot of the kids leeting loose in a dancing frenzy, and the one of Cassidy as Harry Potter with Star Wars accessories!
Loved having you with us for the weekend - it was a blast for us too!
